It has been quite a while since the JED was switched to only allow votes as part of a review - are there any plans on getting rid of the old votes that have no review?

[edit] I just realised that I probably state the reasoning that has been brought up a couple of times: The decision to go with review-votes-only was made because reviews help people understand why a vote was given. Now that we have had this system for a while, non-review-votes also represent almost exclusively outdated opinions - most extensions have had several updates since the change was made. There have been separate complaints about weighing old votes differently, but for now, just getting rid of non-review votes is a pretty painless decision to make. I doubt any developer would object here, but please let me know if I missed anything!

Alright, so I kinda-sorta had a reply to this over twitter.

Maybe the JED leadership can shine some light on the details here? Most importantly: what about the schedule? Do you need us to help you out with writing that one MySQL call? Anything else we can do to help out? Come on guys, let's get this done!

Yes, technically it's a trivial task. Hope there's enough will to get this resolved but I wouldn't hold my breath given the recent experience with change requests.

Also, something needs to be done about the ordering system. It's not right that an extension with rating 5 average out of 3 votes is listed above an extension with 4.75 average out of 50 votes. A smart formula is needed to give advantage to extensions with larger number of votes, even if the rating is little lower.

Some time ago (more than a year) the JED closed the possibility to vote without leaving a review.
A very good step that also prevents a lot of 'fake' votes.

However, all votes before that time that have no review attached are still there and still count.

I would like to ask the JED to simply remove all these old votes that have no review attached.
