Hello,
I created a joomla website for a friend last year on my former laptop. I no longer have that laptop. I own a new laptop and I still have the joomla site project on a folder in may hard disk.
I have installed wamp server and have created some new joomla websites.
I wanted to launch that friends website after placing the website in C:wamp inside the www. folder.
I keep getting the error "cannot connect to sql database"
How can I recreate the sql file for this old project? and make this website run again.

Thanks for your speedy response.

t2e.

When you say that you have the joomla site project in a folder, do you mean the joomla folder, in other words a copy of the folder where Joomla was installed?

You also need to have a backup copy of the database schema for that site.

If the database tables are no longer available for that old project the only way to recreate them is to start from the beginning again and recreate them as they contain all the content and settings for that site. The files of the web server contain the Joomla! Program and any extensions that may have been added, but ANY data that was added (with the exception of the configuration.php file) will have been lost.
