I upgraded and since I did that I cannot get rod of a few things.

Contribute! Books! and Shop!
Also I cannot disable breadcrubs.

I had them all disabled in 1.7 and everything was fine. When I go to extensions to disable Banners I can only disable it Admin but not on Site. Same with breadcrumbs, there is no option to disable it as its greyed out. I had a similar issue with a 2.5.* to 2.5 stable and had to roll back my install.

I would rather not have to roll back to 1.7.3. Is this a big issue or feature with Joomla, that it re-enables things and changes your website settings ?

Anyhow, any ideas ?

Roll back to 1.7 it is then.

I wouldnt advise anybody to do an upgrade at this rate with this level of support we have here and lack of info from developers.

Your OP was "Posted: Yesterday, 06:36"

Some paid Joomla support contracts offer a guaranteed next working day reply. There is a reason these businesses exist because these forums have no guarantee that an answer will be provided, however, we try our best. Please don't expect a community that isn't paid to provide an answer in ONLY 1 working day which was, in some countires, a holiday day due to a popular religious event.

I looked into your issue and after I unpublished the modules that had the type 'Banners' (in com_modules), they disappeared. Did you disable these modules?

They were greyed out. Now back on 1.7 I have the option to unpublish it. But When on 2.5 it was greyed out so that I couldnt unpublish it.

OK, were they all greyed out ? If so then there is a misconfiguration with the com_modules permissions.

Are you using a "Super Admin" login or a "Administrator" login?

You do un-publish them in Extensions->Module Manager and not in Extension->Install/Admin?

Core modules/components are not allowed to be un-installed from Joomla.

Yeh, I will run another upgrade tonight and if the same issue appears I will post screenshots so hopefully people can learn from it.
