Style in articles behaves wierdly

I did a clean install of Joomla 2.5.4 a few days ago, and built from scratch a set of pages.

I am using the Beez 20 template exclusively.

When I am writing an article and try to give a selection of text a different STYLE such as HEADING 2 the entire post changes to the different size, not just the selected text, or the particular line, etc.

This happens throughout the site.

NOTE FROM FPA ASSISTANT: only warning is that Config. file is at 444 - is that an issue? I just changed it to 644 and no difference.

Otherwise FPA says everything fine.

Tried changing to another template, and same thing happens.

Tried a reinstall of Joomla 2.5.4 and there is no difference.

For extensions, I have minimal extra ones - gtranslate and XCloner, and that is it.

Got it to work - there was something weird in the "returns" between paragraphs - but can now make them work
