Due to firewall and proxies, to upgrade my site I need to copy the site to a laptop and upgrade from home.

When completed I them copied the site back to the live servers and imported the database.

I can now access the front end of the updated site, but when I go to the administrator backend I get the login screen and then when user details entered I get 404 errors. I can log in to the front end using the same credentials.

The server is running IIS and the jooml;a version is 2.5.

Any ideas on how to get the site working?

i guess you miss something when you copy it in your local pc;backup it using akeeba and restore it on your laptop

I have copied all files with no errors using robocopy.
I had no problems going from live site to laptop.

I will have to look at akeeba but can not understand how this should make a difference.
