I have found siteground ultra fast in terms of answering queries (like within a few minutes, unlike 1&1 which took up to three weeks). Good for noobs ;o)

... and just for balance I have had responses to my queries from 1&1 within 12 hours. Not absolutely ideal but a bit nearer the norm for most companies these days. ;) And yes some companies have a pretty quick turnaround of queries which is always ideal, but then one wonders why - perhaps they have fewer clients for some reason - just playing devil's advocate.

Good point, although my three-week waits seemed to be the median, leaving me in the deep blue sea ;)

Thank you all for all your comments I truly appreciate it!! With 1&1 I read a LOT of bad reviews ..with Siteground I am on the fence with them and I don't know about Hostgator..I checked the link for Joomla extensions and support for Hosting and I kinda like Simple Source Solution ..does anyone have any feedback on that one?

Also could someone recommend a Canadian Web Hosting service?

Thank you for your time and effort!!

I am using http://www.vaisulweb.it/ as ISP. If you have a domain name like "myname.info", you have a control panel "cp.myname.info", a mail server like "mail.myname.info" etc.

The domain costs me 40.83 euro a year including my domain name. You also have a SQL and a MySQL database for this money. I payed using paypall because I have no credit card.

In my control panel of my site there is a microsoft web app gallary where you can install many applications like Joomla 2.5. It works great.
Communication and help is sometimes in Italian but they do their best to change it in english.

I could install a new template. First there was an error but then I changed
public $tmp_path = '/tmp';
into
public $tmp_path = './tmp';
in the configuration.php file
and it worked as expected.

So far, I'm am really satified. I am new to Joomla and I think I found a great environment.

It is also possible to have an asp.net website using visual studio and SQL. Great.

Frans
