I have general problems to get my Joomla sites in the top rankings of Google.

I checked my sites in several checkers, I really take my time to optimize the content and the descriptions but but for some reason it just doesn't work the way I expected.

I like Joomla very much. I use it already for several years but my head is hanging down now.

Take for example this site http://www.bakkergerard.nl This is a local bakery site in Holland with very low competition.

I optimized site for three combines keywords
1. bakker hoofddorp
2. belegde broodjes hoofddorp
3. lunch hoofddorp

For all of them they are not in the top 100.
Even a site like this http://www.zeilschooltoolenburg.nl/cursussen_tarieven/ which has nothing to do with a bakery (is a sailingschool) and does not use any keywords, description and so on is higher as my site.

I don't understand it anymore. I must do something wrong.

Who is willing to help me about this issue?

There is a "search-engine-optimization-starter-guide" from google. Have you gone through it?

That is right it can be slow hosting or pure optimisation of pages and so on.

Joomla is not an problem I guess. Make sure that you have chosen appropriate keywords for its related pages and check keyword's density. Then try do On-page optimization and then start quality link building. you'll be on top within a month for low competition.

On a seperate note... google's just implemented (24th April) a change to it's algorithm to tackle webspam. So do factor that in as well. Best of luck!

If you are optimizing a biznis in such a niche market: try to use long tail (semantic and derivative) keyword sentences instead of generic keywords. the sentence: "hoe haal jij het beste uit je leven" got me on page one of google in just a few weeks! You could consider the following: research SEOT and SEOC, you need a not to low seot and a not to high seoc, then look at adwords and see what the keywords are worth (what they would cost you if you'd pay for them) the higher the vallue the better, then use those in your keyword tail.

Hi guys.
After reading what you have written. Joomla is 100% not the issue, Joomla is a fantastic Search Engine Friendly Content Management System which has allowed me to run a successful business for the past several years.

One of the best ways to make sure that you are using the correct keywords on your website is to use the free tool from Google. If you go to Google search and simply search: Keywords for Google and use the free Google Adwords program, this will give you a much better understanding of what keywords to use. (If you know what keywords to use before you add them, then you have already won half the battle. It is a slow process and there are no short cuts, but it is worth it, believe me!

I use it all the time for developing my client websites and I give my clients very good organic SEO. If you want any more tips, let me know as I will now be adding in all my knowledge into these forums and I'm sorry I've been away so long.
