I need an orientation BEFORE I start DELETING UNUSED DATA.

I installed joomla INCLUDING SAMPLE DATA. Y have learned a lot, BUT I need to start deleting the unusable sample data.

I know that UN-PUBLISHING IT makes it disappear from the page. THE problem is that it is TOOO much data and when you are editing you need to sort a lot of data and change pages. This takes time.

I can do TWO things.

I can delete directly on the DATABASE. (FASTER and EASIER), But if I delete something I did not intended, might be a problem.

I can delete through the Administrator page. BUT, I noticed that deleting data from the admin page DO NOT DELETES the DATA from the DATABASE. A HUGE DATABASE MAKES PAGE SLOWER.

i NEED A RECOMMENDATION FROM ONE OF THE MASTERS THAT CAN GIVE ME A METHOD AND WHY. :-\

When you delete an article, joomla puts it in the trash. When you empty the trash, joomla deletes it from the database. Same for menu links, modules, etc. To see trashed items, go to, for example, Articles Manager and select status of "Trashed"

If you have finished with your "learner stage" of Joomla! have you considered starting from scratch and completely reinstalling Joomla! Only this time do not add the Sample Data?
