Hello, I have posted in numerous forums for the past two/three weeks and I cant seem to get anywhere...
Im running Joomla! 2.5.2 Stable [ Ember ] 5-March-2012
with a Rocket Theme template (Clarion v 1.2) - just upgraded on April 27th...

I had this problem before the upgrade as well - see http://dsamih.com/index.php/contact-us

The error message: Captcha plugin not set or not found. Please contact a site administrator will NOT go away... I have the Global Config set to None Selected, I have the User options set to None Selected and I have the Joomla core plug in disabled... I am using another plug in for captcha purposes...

can anyone please tell me why this error message continues to display? Am I missing something... please, please someone shed some light on this for me....???? I dont know where else to go anymore... running out of doors...

thank you anyone.

'Captcha plugin not set or not found' message and "I am using another plug in for captcha purposes" Perhaps the overrides in in the Template don't recognise the plugin ?

Try with a standard Template as default.

I will give that a try however, I have also approached the template developers (Rocket Theme) with this issue and they (after several suggestions) referred me here, so Im not sure that is going to work. I did initially use the core Joomla captcha in the current template and it worked fine. This error only appeared after resorting to a new plugin. Does that have any bearing on this?

The obvious answer to that would be yes. But as to why ... could be a few things.

You could also try a different captcha see if that worked ? If you tried several and all the captcha's failed then we could be looking at Joomla. But if others worked then the problem could be with your captcha plugin ?

Thanks for that, I will consider a new plug in and see if I get anywhere with that.

Figured out the problem with help from the developers of the third party plug in - there is a third location for setting the captcha to None Selected - the Contact User Options under the form tab, the other two being Global Config and User Options...Hope this helps someone in the future.
