Hi,

I am running 1.7 and updated Joomla via the Update section in Admin Panel. Now my Admin login is gone.

Here is a link http://slimsraleigh.com/administrator/

Any ideas how I can Login or resolve this problem?

Or and I doom to start over.

Thanks,

John

So long as you have your database intact you have your site. The files are just a way of placing and retrieving the data ;)

viewtopic.php?f=625&t=691030&p=2793967#p2793191
should solve your problem.

Hi,

Thanks for the thread. I have the site and I found a way to login using this address

http://www.mysite.com/administrator/?option=com_login

But under global settings the buttons on top of the page are gone. Will the solution in the link work?

I am rather new to all this so I am worried that I am going to make matters worse.

So long as your database is intact then deleting the files and replacing will do no harm

Hi,

I am now getting a totally blank page on the login, so I can not access the Admin site of the site which means that I am not sure how to upload files.

Any help would be great.

John

Do you have a backup ? If not then you will need to make a small edit with phpMyAdmin from your Host's CP

Removing the site files, what does this mean?

'Removing the site files' = Means delete the files on the server

You have a back so you use your backup to replace them. If your backup includes a database then replace that as well.

Then you log in to admin and remove the SU group from the Public view level. Then you run the update. Like that post said.
