Hi all,

First of all i'm new to this forum and managed to put my very first site online. :)

I'm still tweaking my site a bit but i'm having an issue with the position of a slideshow module. I want to lower the slideshow a bit (so increase the top margin?) but i don't know how to do this. I can only choose from a list of default positions but how can I add my own or customise a default one?

Here is a screenshot of the frontpage of my site.

As U can see the slideshow is to close to the top border. I want to put the slideshow right in the center. How can vertially align this module?

Please when U give an explenation, tell me in detail what i have to adjust and where i can find this file or option cause im far from professional.

Thanks in advantage :)

you will have to change the position of the slideshow using CSS.

First of all I would make sure you have Google Chrome (right click > inspect element) or Firefox with the firebug toolbar plugin installed. This will allow you to see what 'stylesheet' is controlling the slideshow and what 'class' in particular. Then you will have to download the stylesheet to you computer, make the changes, and upload it again.

If you don't know how to code CSS you are stuffed really!

You could post the URL so we could take a look for you via FireBug :)

Hi all thanks for answering. :)

Since i don't know how to code CSS I looked for an alternative solution. I used artisteer to reduce the size of the footer and so it looks like the slidehow is situated in the middle. thanks again

An easier solution to altering the template is to use the 'loadposition' in an article, explained here:
http://winfoes.co.uk/forum/Joomla-Exten ... e-position

It contains links to other explanations on the use of the 'loadposition'.

This way you will not be altering your template possibly making it non cross browser compatible.

I think you have misunderstood the question. Berke53 question was about how to place padding on the module. Not how to load the module.

Yes I know.
By using the loadposition within an article you can use in line styling within a div
or simply:
Code:
<center>..</center> and <br />'s

EG:
Code:
<br /><br />
<center>{loadposition xxxxx}</center>

The reason I tried to simplify the process was:

Start messing with the files is not a good idea unless you know what you are doing.
There is no need in most cases as moving modules about is quite easy with the 'loadposition', especially if you use html with no editor enabled.
