New to Joomla 2.5 here's what happened I believe what has caused my current crises.
I uploaded and install lazy back up and being an idiot I thought I would change the setting to specail or at least I think I did after up loading this I ran a back up of the db at the server because before I proceeded with my amateur attempts to build this site mssicctv.com. so here is my current problem after waiting for the backup to complete(I've had to start over from scratch already one) before I proceeded I went to continue create a new cat and bam I have no save button as I continued to try to fix the problem quickly realizing what had happen but alas I couldn't effect the change back I thought well lets try relogging in that only made it worse as now I only have two options on my cp view site log out.

How do I fix this without a back up before the brain fart ?
or do I just have to start over?

I've never met a problem in this way. But try to overwrite the files again via ftp or download and install joomla again. installation files can be a problem. You can download and re-install the download link to the homepage than Joomla. I hope I answered using the program helps to translate.

SO in other words start all over .. so much work down the drain.. I have other prep to do in hopes someone will have a solution unless you think uploading the core files over the will solve the problem I wish there was a way to edit this setting or even uninstalling this from the ftp.
On the brighter side I at least have learned joomla so it won't take me but 6 hours to get back to where I was .

Make sure the number 8 is in the 'Rules' field for Special

I was hoping that was the solution but the setting are the same as in your image.

Not a problem. Now you check that the Super user ID has the correct value in the usergroup_map.

If that is not the problem then we look deeper.

In #__assets In the record for 'Root Asset' (should be first record)
Click edit
Copy the contents of the 'rules' field and paste into a text editor
Look for "core.login.admin"
Does it look like
"core.login.admin":{"6":1}
or are there other numbers in the brackets ?

That is showing the values for "core.login.site"
You need to edit that record and copy the 'rules' field and paste into a text editor in order to see the values for "core.login.admin"

That's the problem, you allowed Public to login Admin. There is a known bug.
Edit the field
Remove
"1":1,
so
"core.login.admin":{"1":1,"6":1}
looks like
"core.login.admin":{"6":1}

That will fix it ;)

You must have changed the Permissions for Public to login Admin (Global config).

There is a bug and a patch has been made so it should be in the next update. This is mostly noticed after update from 2.5.3 to 2.5.4 viewtopic.php?f=625&t=691030&p=2793967#p2793191

Once we established that SU group was still in the 'Special' user access/view level then that was the next thing to check.

Well I can now see the c panel I still can not edit ..
And as soon as I left the first attempt to edit the problem came all the way back..clearly my set up doesn't like the easy backup mod
