Hi all,

I'm using j2.5.4

I've looked in "configuration.php" and there is no language setting there. I know I can change languages in the back-end "Extensions > Language Manager" but I want to add a little bit of custom code to allow me to select different languages based on domain.

I have "mysite.co.uk" and "mysite.com".

I want to the ".com: site to use en_US and my ".co.uk" to use en_GB. I've got the PHP code to do it but I need to know where the default language setting is stored.

Can anyone help me spot it?

Thank you! :)

Ray.

The default language settings for front-end and back-end are stored in the com_languages params in the _extensions table.
No hack possible there.

Here is a pdf tutorial on how to build a multilingual site in J1.7 (it works in 2.5 also) http://help.joomla.org/files/EN-GB_multilang_tutorial.pdf.

You can also watch this video tutorial on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnhVVtyejPg

@Wypaq
This is unrelated to the topic. The topic is dealing with different URLS per language.

And for your info, here is the official multilang demo site with back-end access:
