First of all hello everyone, hope we figure this out.

What i want to do? I want to hide specific menu items from displaying in my menu but i want them to remain active as links.

Lets say i have this in my menu Cruises > North Europe > Item 1 > Item 1a

I want to hide/disable Item 1a from displaying in menu but i need possibility to link to it from article and keep it's SEO link. (On different menu levels, for each type of visitor).

I find it really interesting, among all Menu parameters that Joomla offers, there is no option Visible/Invisible for menu items, specific menu items. I might do this through css display: none function but this is not the solution. Mostly because of the articles frequency.

I tried creating replica menu with same structure but that didn't work because of the SEO aliases. I tried creating menu alias and link to it from article but when i unpublish original menu item same problem occurs.

Help ;)

I worked around this by hiding my menu by setting it's position to a one in another template that is not used in my current template. And i then created the entire menu again using the custom html module(off course leaving out the parts you do not want to publish)

Hmm, i think you misunderstood my point.

I use multiple level accordion menu with (so far) 300+ menu items that grabs information directly from Joomla menu system, it has nothing to do with changing positions and templates. It is all about hiding specific menu items and keeping their linking SEO capabilities through articles etc.

I did a heavy search on hiding specific menu items unfortunately without results. I would really appreciate any suggestions and ideas regarding this issue.

I will post updates on this matter here.
