HI
I have a 1.5.22 site.
What is the easiest and fastest way to upgrade to 2.5?
How can i keep all my url's including tag pages?
Should i use automatic plugins like jupgrade / j2xml / sp upgrade? (which is the best?)
What are the pros and cons of choosing to migrate to wordpress instead of 2.5?

Thanks !
Kate

With reference to upgrading, you may want to look at the following:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=694796
http://docs.joomla.org/Migrating_from_Joomla_1.5_to_Joomla_2.5

With reference to Joomla v Wordpress, it all depends on what you want your site to do. Having used Drupal, Wordpress & Joomla extensively, I know that you need to select the right one, right from the outset, for the right circumstances, (i.e. your own intentions and your own circumstances, in-terms of the abilities that you have available).

For instance, Joomla may be the most appropriate for those that do not have in-house web development expertise, whereas Drupal is the opposite. And Wordpress is a premier blogging CMS with the ability to build websites, whereas Joomla is the opposite. Joomla therefore may be more appropriate if you need it for its strengths, as mentioned. (This is a very broad and vague assessment, it needs to be more detailed, which can only be done with you making an assessment of your needs and circumstance, and then deciding which one you wish to use).

Hi,

The guide you posted to upgrade to 2.5 said to use a tool called jupgrade. The guide said that it needs to run from a minimum of 1.5.26 before upgrading. However I went to the upgrade site and there's no upgrade from 1.5.22 (the version I'm running) to 1.5.26

Has anyone upgraded using jupgrade from 1.5.22 or know if it will work? Where can I find upgrade from 1.5.22 to 1.5.26 if it doesn't work?

Thanks

Paul

One of the lines on the specified documentation page pointed to a further page http://docs.joomla.org/Upgrading_1.5_from_an_existing_1.5x_version that you should follow.
