Hi All

I have a potential client how wants a small site in English of about 10 pages. They then want "Another" version in Italian - same site, apart from the text!

I have suggested google translate, but they want "Quality" Italian!

What might be a good way to do this - create two sites?
Or two menus one Italian one English and a button that flips back and forth somehow between them?

I'd really value any ideas please

Thanks

Edward

I would use Joomla 2.5. You don't have to create a 1-on-1 translation. You can use different content for the different languages.

For my own website I used Joomla 2.5 and I created different Dutch + English content: My portfolio is only in Dutch and downloads is only in English.

To create a multi-language site you can use the 10 steps described in my presentation:

Another useful tutorial would be http://multilingual-joomla-demo.cloudaccess.net/en/multi-lingual-steps-by-steps.html.

The being a demo cum tutorial site, you could log into the site's back-end and see how things are setup.

Fortunately, there is a Joomla! component that was designed specifically for adding another language version of the web site. It is called Joom!Fish.

Joomfish is still unavailable for 2.5.
