Look again? Sure, go look for yourself, you're wrong friend.
Anyhow, don't matter, I'm done with joomla. The 'team' doesn't give a crap either way to anything that's happening around joomla. There are so many unfortunate things going on but no one wants to see it.

That's fine with me, I'm done talking about it and moving on.
Talk among yourselves from this point on. Not only are you hashing up a very old thread but you've obviously not even read the entire thread to know what you are talking about.

Enjoy, I'm outta here.

hate to say this, but no one posted between webdongle post in july 2011 and you post in may this year, so it was actually you, mlewis, who dug up this thread. see the enclosed screenshot

I think the real crux of the matter is that the Joomla Wiki documentation is so poorly organized and incomplete that people rush to the forums for answers to very common issues (which people get tired of answering over and over, not me though!), and without the necessary knowledge to understand the answers they do get. If the pro's really want to help out, write more documentation (It's my personal Project to organize the 2.5 documentation the best I can over the next few months)

  • That's what the search button is for.
  • Yes you can get demoralised if you keep answering the same question when it is clear the individuals have not even attempted this.
  • Even the argument that the search on the site is slow/unavailable is not relevant as you can use Google to search the Joomla site/forums specifically.

  • There are no "pros" here!
  • Every one gives their time voluntarily and you cannot make such a "demand".
  • Not everyone that is a programmer/developer can or has the time to be a documenter, that is the nature of the beast.
  • Documentation is always the poor relative of every project unless there is money to throw at it and engage people directly, and even then it is often very poorly created - M$ being a good example of this.
  • It is good that you want to contribute to the documentation project you should perhaps contact Chris Davenport, the Team Leader for this, with your ideas - just so you don't waste your time reinventing the wheel.

Andy, I was not trying to make demands, merely suggestions. I do understand the volunteer nature and the time pressures involved. I will take your suggestion and contact Chris Davenport. My background is in publishing management, so maybe I could contribute to the organizational structure of the Wiki.
