Re: Convert 1.5 language to 2.5?
Could you please provide more details about what language you would like to convert?
The list of available language packs for Joomla! 2.5 could be found at http://community.joomla.org/translation ... tions.html.
You could also check whether the language pack you need is listed at http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... for-joomla.

We do have a specific component that will take as much strings as possible from a 1.5 to a 2.5, easing the work for new 2.5 language packs.

It is the kurdish language. I have looked it up, but its just for Joomla 1.5. Kurdish (kurmanji), not kurdish ([soran])imanickam wrote:Could you please provide more details about what language you would like to convert?

Re: Convert 1.5 language to 2.5?
Suggest reviewing the discussion http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?p ... 9#p2614929 that provides a tool to convert the 1.5 language packs to 1.7 language packs. This could translate around 60% of the strings. Hopefully this should help you out in your effort.
I notice that there is a Central Kurdish (Kurdish [soran]) Translation team and there released the language packs for Joomla! 2.5 and you can see them listed at http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jtrans ... ge_id=5735. Is this different than the one you are talking about?

Re: Convert 1.5 language to 2.5?
If, based on the Kurdish [soran] pack, you make a Kudish kurmanji pack, please contact Mig or myself to get this pack registered to make it available to all Joomla users.
The tag for Kudish kurmanji shall be:
kmr-COUNTRYISOCODE
I guess the country iso code for this language could be either
Turkey (TR), Syria (SY) or Iraq (IQ)

Re: Convert 1.5 language to 2.5?
One does not have to convert 2.5 to 3.x. The format is the same.ravani wrote:excuse me is it valied tools for coverting 2.5 to 3 ?
A 2.5 language pack will just need updating to 3.x. as we have many new strings and obsolete ones.
