Although I have never used it, have you ever played with the "Special" Access level? This might be the level that you want to give teachers. Or, you could try a component that will create access levels for you.

Did you find a good solution? I'd be interested to learn of such a one.

You will have to use the User Manager from the administrator to change them to a "Special" user.

Is it possible to have two registration processes  one that registers you as a special user and one as a registered user?

bj,
fyi, 'special' refers to author, editor and above.

i think you're looking for a more robust solution than this. i would suggest you look into a component.

Ok I will take a look through them. Basically I just will have 2 types of users. User A will have one usermenu and User B will have another user menu. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks for your help guys.

Hello rud_hp,

Welcome to the Joomla forums!

Ideally you should not post in a thread that is 6 years old. :) A new thread would suffice. But since we are here, I'll answer your question. You can create more than one user with different access/privileges in Joomla 2.5 using Access Control Lists.

You can learn everything you ever wanted to know about Access Control Lists here:
http://docs.joomla.org/Access_Control_L ... 5/Tutorial

If you have any questions after readying the information contains at the link above, post in the ACL forum here:
