Congratulations on the latest release! :)

It is amazing to look back and see how things have progressed since last October. A lot of hard work has been put in by the entire Joomla! team.

Great work and Thank You.

I've upgraded two sites with the 1.0.8 -> 1.0.9 patch package, without a hitch, and both sites seem noticably quicker.

Smooth! I upgraded three sites from 1.0.3->1.0.9 plus two sites from 1.0.8->1.0.9.  It took me less than 15 minutes, I'd say. Fantastic work, as usual. Thanks.

Great work joomla team thank you! I haven't tried it yet, but from the community feedback seems like everything is working smoothly. I have 6 installation of Joomla to upgrade myself pretty soon.

Just wondering if the online Joomla Demo is running on 1.0.9 as well? Like to see the speed improvements  :)

Hi,

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I've just updated 1.08 to 1.09 hoping that my login problem would be solved but it hasn't.

I've been able to login as admin from the /administrator link, but not via the login box. It just "seems" to refresh the page (no user menu etc) Version 1.09 is exactly the same.

I know this problem has been mentioned in here before but I can't find the solution anywhere and my last hope was that 1.09 would fix it.

Other than that, all is fine.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

NB - I have tried deleting cookies, rebooting etc.

Thanks for your work!

BTW, the download still says 'Download 1.0.8', and forge also lacks announcement & proper link on the SF toolbar.

Unzipped, uploaded - the site, both front and backend seems SO MUCH faster its just cool!
Thanks a lot for this one!
afterthought: oups, completely forgot about Phils Tags component, as it modifies Core files!?? Didn't even think about that. Too late then. Funny thing is, it still appears to work. Cool :)

Important note for Non-English Joomla! users
Those not using the default english language file

A change in a language definition means that the text in the mod_whosline module will not output correctly:
http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,66501.0.html

Basically Language File maintainers will need to create a new language file for 1.0.9
Will also blog about this shortly

Upgraded from 1.08 to 1.09 without a hitch and very easy it was too!  I wish I'd made notes of what code I'd tweaked though... I'll know for next time though.

Just chiming in to say well done, upgraded three sites without issues and they do indeed seem to load a little snappier than before! Many thanks for the months of hard work and kudos!

Neil.

Excellent job.

Though, it seems its somewhat incompatable with some of the bridges for SMF out there. On http://www.joomlahacks.com they explain there is a problem too. And im using the one that the SMF forum has out, 1.1.4 by Oristo, and ive run into problems too (namley, members are viewed as guests even when logging in correctly (case correct too).)

For that reson, I cannot try it out anymore. Im doing a return to 1.08 until this problem is solved, either on Joomla end or SMF end.

But, for the little while I had it up, yes it did seem alittle quicker and nicer to use. Good job on that.

All went smooth & excellent work as usual.

Exceptions are -

1. I do get  /includes/joomla.php on line 3392 error when using MOSCE Links & Image Manager. This will be a big issue w/ folks in between MOSCE & JCE. Presently folks aren't switching to JCE as you loose all the links to your images embedded in content.

2. Email Cloaking no longer works as you get the jscript showing in tables w/ Email's. You either got to turn it off or re-enter the Email addresses.

3. Trying to work through things but I'm thinking of going back to 1.08 due to all the work involved w/ 1.09 coming out but 3rd parties not working.
