Hello everybody!
I accidentaly posted this thread in installation, i'm confused, can an moderator suppress the one in the "installation" please? thanks!

I migrated my site with joice from mambo 4.5.2 to joomla.
All worked well: my composants are here, ect... I can create menus, but no item/section/category!  ??? (static or not) from the backend.
I can edit one item/section/category which was created, but when i clicked on the new button, firefox or ie try to load ... and nothing happen then, it remains the same page (once the loading completed)
Does somebody know how to correct that, please  :'( ?
Thanks!
Did

PS: my administrator template is joomla default

Hi,

Sorry...just checked to be sure on a fresh install of Joomla! 1.0. I was able to create/edit section, category and content item. Do you get any errors or warnings?

Hi,

I don't use spaw myself. Maybe you can find support on an official spaw site?
You could also check the forum: Support Zone, Administration, WYSIWYG Editors. See if someone else has the same issue and maybe a solution.

Anyone else using Spaw and experiencing this problem?

Hey

I,ve got the same problem as you.

I have done a fresh install og Joomla 1.0 and have fooled around with it, then to experience that I could not create a new section.
That is with AND without the sample data.
I notice IE giving me an error on the bottom of the page
looks like the way it ntices a javascript error
it says:

error on:

line: 2
character: 1
error: there is a syntax error
code: 0
URL: http://localhost/xxx/jomla/administrator/index2.php

Does anyone have a clue as to what gives this error???
It could be a server thing, since it seems others aren't getting it.

I uses the default WYSIWYG, and also tried the new MosCe WYSIWYG, and the both gives the error

Hi acoustika,

You have to check in your configuration.php for your mosconfig live_site. Check if it has the WWW prefix in the URL or not. Make sure when you logon to the administrator that you use the same URL. This is one of the known issues, related to javascript and security. It needs the exact same URL to function properly.

Wauw that's quick reply  ;)

But I'm not sure if I understand, welle Yes I do, but I'm on my localmachine and therefore can't make $mosconfig live_site have a www, so what do I do  :(

Does this topic have anything to do with it http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,1864.0.html

Hi,

Could you post the live_site and absolute_path here? Maybe I can see something wrong then.

Yes I can  ;)

$mosConfig_absolute_path = 'c:/ibserver/www/joomla';
$mosConfig_live_site = 'http://localhost/joomla';

This is my settings in configuration.php

I think it should be right

It seems that the site is working overall :-)

I have played with Mambo quiet a bit and made several sites, and I would say that the site itself seems fine, haven't encountered other errors for now.

As you can see I'm using IBserver, a very easy one to install, maybe it has to do with the server???
I've installed the server and used it alot, only thing I have changes are setting zlip, and after that joomla (and mambo) says everything is alright

Hi,

Looks okay indeed. Can't think of someting this quick, why the editor is causing you problems.

What if you use FireFox browser?
IE settings are correct to accept coockies and javascript?

Too bad it's on your localhost, otherwise I could have tested for you.
Starting to think it's an issue with the webserver and/or your system (pc).

What are the apache/php/mysql versions?

Got this from my server

Apache/1.3.26 (Win32) PHP/4.2.3

And phpMyAdmn says

MySQL 3.23.52

ALSO in PhpMyAdmin it gives me a warning in red, something like this

$cfg['PmaAbsoluteUri'] directive HAS to be set in configuration file  ; roughly translated from danish ;-)

That looks okay as well. I must be missing something here  ;)

The warning/error on phpmyadmin is okay, otherwise Joomla would not even run at all.

Anyone else on this? staring at it but can not find the issue....

Okay, thanks for trying  :D

I'll fool around with it some more, did see a least one other having a problem like this, so maybe a solution will come in time.
I'll try upload the site to my server host in a few days and see if it's different there ;-)

No better for my on my server host ... i decided to try fckeditor, and have no problem with it. So, i think, i would stay with this.
Thanks for trying! maybe the next version of spaw will do less javascript error (i reported it).

Hi,

@ acoustika, glad it's working on your hosting, thats the one that counts right.

@ didrocks, thats another solution, using another editor. i'm doing the same, just using something that fits my needs and also works  ;)

The problem is that your 'localhost' owns all the programs and users don't have the permission to write to the server.

If you check the permissions of the files they are most likely set to "700"

Two options to fix the problem:

1. when starting the installation, select the options for chmod during installation. Make files "755"

2. after installation, go to global configuration. click tab for "server", select chmod files and directories, set them to your settings, and on the right there is a check box, set both check boxes to change permission for all files. and save.

This worked both on my localhost, and live site.
