I am starting to work on a photographers website.

There will be (client's request/demand) several collages of photos, which need to be linked (link can be outside of Joomla) to the full sized image.

Is there a way to do this?

(in ms frontpage, I can do this using hotspots, but customer really wants this in joomla)

???

Thanks

this most easily accomplished via a gallery component, such as gallery2, which you can find at the extensions site, http://extensions.joomla.org

you can always code it via html:

good luck!

I still am not finding a way to upload a collage image then link each pic to the full-sized image.

the collage will be already made using many images that need to be linked to bigger image.

i am looking for a bot/mod/componant that does that.

i have looked at serveral addins, but have not found what i am looking for.

any help?  thanks

I read up on using Image Maps in Joomla, and they don't seem to play too well  :(

The easiest way is to create the object as you will and then use the wrapper component to link to that page - still gives it an "inside" Joomla look without being inside Joomla.

The other thing I can think of, though this is a lot of work, is to use JCE editor with Advanced Image Manager plugin. Create a table where each cell is a fixed size, embed a picture into each cell with a fixed size thumbnail, and set the pop-up option to show the full photo. Might be laborious to do, but it should work...?

Hope these ideas at least get you thinking,
Gareth

This is cute...

http://www.malevole.com/ (no association, I simply think it's cute)

There are a couple of 'float' modules knocking about, I wonder...

You could always 'slice' it into a table

Have you found an easy way to do this?
I was playing around with Shape Collage (http://www.shapecollage.com/online/) for this page:
http://www.downtownmilton.com/photo-gallery/2009-photos.html
but it doesn't give you any control over how the images are laid out or even really how many are in the collage... If nothing else I need it to be bigger than this with more images.
I really like the idea. Can anyone help?
