Wordpress to Joomla

Post by abs » Sat Dec 03, 2005 9:06 pm

I have a blog here http://abs.absabs.us. I am testing Joomla for a few months and I still can't seem to replace wordpress with Joomla. My problem is Joomla doesnt do everything that Wordpress does. In Joomla, I cant have commenting like Wordpress, I cant upload the images without a different uploading tool and many more. Has anyone been able to successfully replace wordpress with joomla?

Tables are exactly the same, execpt the usertable, the integration use joomla usertable. The backend is the same as normal in wordpress.

Hi abs,
A new project has been launched in the Forge: WordPress for Joomla!.

This might be what you're looking for.  :)
My Extensions: JM-Recommend, JM-Credits, JM-Link Us (for J! 1.0.x). Find them in the 3rd Party Extensions Forum.

Did it work on the frontpage?

The Admin link is currently empty, maybe i should add the link the WP Admin there, otherwise i release the modules today, there is a link to the admin. You can enter the admin, when you click on Edit in your Blog, i'm not sure how much i will integrated the adminsite from WP into the JoomlaBackend of the component.

Link is:

http://absabs.us/.http://absabs.us/comp ... dit&post=1

Is fixed since 3 hours, package is updated, you have in the options table 2 URL’s and 1 Path, all have a > . < at the begining and at the end, delete them and the second URL must be the same as the first one, and all works.

Yes it is ok ;)

You can change the numbers of displayed characters of the Recent Comments in the Module config, 25-35 is a good choice.

You can use Joomla extensions. It doesn't take you a lot of time and effort. When you are familiar with these, you can see that Joomla is very flexible.
For example:
- Comment extension: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... ments/9985
- Slideshow extensions: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... /slideshow
- Photo flash gallery: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... sh-gallery
