For those operating sites with Joomfish with chinese included, the simplified chinese translation available on Joomla Repository is a disaster. The best ideia is to have all files encoded on UTF-8.
I don't speak chinese, however passing the file over several text editors to reencode it I managed to get that file on UTF-8 format working right with JoomFish.
If you need you can download it here:
http://www.sirarthur.info/downloads/sim ... hinese.zip
Please note, I don't speak chinese, that is a reencoding only of the file, any misspeling or grammar mistakes must be addressed to the previous translator.

Re: Simplified Chinese - Patched to UTF-8
I'm sorry, seams I forgot to delete the BOM from the file, which leads it to output errors. I just corrected it and repack on the same address. If you downloaded the previous file, please re-download it.
Thanks for neth for advice me about this mistake.

Re: Simplified Chinese - Patched to UTF-8
interesting! since you don't speak chinese, why are you so keen on chinese project?
but anyway, thanks for your effort!
However what I'm looking for is a way to translate backend lauguage into chinese in 1.0.12 version.
seems nothing available for this issue!?

Re: Simplified Chinese - Patched to UTF-8
is that version still available anywhere? Would like to try it with encoding gb2312 because converting the whole Joomla installation into utf8 seems to be quite difficult...sirarthur wrote: the simplified chinese translation available on Joomla Repository

The GB2312 encoded chinese translation is in the Joomla's Repository, just browse for it.
This is needed for use along with other languages (multi language websites), specially those accentuated or with special characters such as French, Spanish, Portuguese or non standard charset such as Arabic or Russian.
For just chinese or chinese and english you can use GB2312 encoding.

um, which repository do you mean? I couldn't find it here: http://extensions.joomla.org/component/ ... Itemid,35/
There are only two links pointing to utf8 versions and one broken link pointing to another Chinese language file.
Anyway, I need it for a page in German, English and Chinese. So maybe I have to use the utf8 version anyway...
edit: OK, looks like its working now with utf8. Just need someone who speaks chinese to check it

Moved the translation to:
http://www.sirarthur.info/joomlatrans/u ... ed_chinese
Some strings are missed due to the version of the file. If any chinese speaker can complete it, I thank him/her very much.
