I have a hebrew web page (even though I cannot read or speak hebrew)
on http://www.motionmountain.net/hebrew.html

and I would like to add the hebrew date (so far, it says 15.9.2006).

Could somebody post it for me, so that I can copy/paste it into the
html? Thank you in advance

I guess you are not even a Joomla user...  :laugh:

15 בספטמבר 2006

the right alignment does not work here currectly, but it will be OK when you copy & paste it.

on a slightly different tack if you are after conversion from the Gregorian to the Jewish calendar this module works quite well:

It is also worth knowing that PHP has a built in function that does Gregorian to Jewish translation. It requires only a one line change to have dates shown as Jewish dates in Joomla!

Oooh, now that could be very handy. Especially as it would probably be quite a quick hack to modify one of the Joomla Calendar components to display Jewish dates.

I'm a bit of a newbie with PHP but generally OK with languages so I think I'm going to have to play with function I didn't know existed!

For anyone else interested here's a link to the PHP function:
http://www.w3schools.com/php/func_cal_jdtojewish.asp
along with lost of other calendar functions here:
http://www.w3schools.com/php/php_ref_calendar.asp

All the best

Hi David;

We have just post a new page and wanted to display the heberew date with hebrew fonts. can you advise how we can achieve this.

we use the php code :

$gregorianMonth = date(n);
$gregorianDay = date(j);
$gregorianYear = date(Y);

$jdDate = gregoriantojd($gregorianMonth,$gregorianDay,$gregorianYear);

$hebrewMonthName = jdmonthname($jdDate,4);

$hebrewDate = jdtojewish($jdDate);

list($hebrewMonth, $hebrewDay, $hebrewYear) = split('/',$hebrewDate);

echo "$hebrewDay $hebrewMonthName $hebrewYear";
?>

which shows the correct date , but the font need to be in hebrew.

thanks

Jeff

I need this too.
I have a list of all the articles in a category, and I need a Hebrew (Jewish) date showing.
Thanks
