btw, those checking-in the rollcall/attendance pls feel free to post your hometown or where in the philippines are you particularly located/based/situated so we can have a demographical statistics for future reference on local dialects or simply by localities.
---for reference purposes also that MAYBE and PERHAPS in the near future we can conduct something like "*ambers day" or hosting a local community convention. OR maybe a simple community eye-ball/get together will do. ahihihihi.

again, for everyone to know; im based in CEBU now. born here, grew up and educated in manila and then rebased back to ~sunny city CEBU!~.

@cebuanoads, hi again jing! since the forum board is NEW(but does not literally follows that the community is new).. there is no current rules regarding the AVATAR yet. there are rules on the forum(which was lifted form the "other" forum) but not yet so far on the avatar.

links:

http://forum.opensourcematters.org/index.php?topic=141 --> a refernce thread for the avatar so far. there are lots of discussions.. but not as a RULE yet. my apologies if i had used the word "rules" in my prior post. again my pologies. ~smiles~ .

http://forum.opensourcematters.org/inde ... ,65.0.html --> the rules, as lifted from the "other" forum site.

Nasusunod kaya natin yan na rules?  :P ;D
^^ahhahha. lol!.

IMHO,.. defintely there is a flaw on that provision of the RULES. hence, it stated "please use" .. in legal perspective it is not concretely binding to be abided. this follows, that the line "and not English" is conditional since the structure was pre-stated with "please use".

^^OR slap me if i got the interpretation wrong. ahihihi.. my ~statutory construction~ professor should haved flunked me if thats the case. ahihihihihi.

well, I flunked my business law class.  the little I know, I can say this:  "please use" implies suggestion, and not requirement.  Thus, I think we should speak English in this Filipino board.  hehe

in fact, it will just give/make our lives harder since karamihan sa mga pinoy are even more *eloquent* or writtenly articulate in writing in english rather than that of filipino.

sad to say, but its a fact. blame the filipino system of education(twas pres. aguino who implemented this if my memory serves me right) IF you do disagree to this fact.

actually, in a way, pare, i disagree with you... or, am not sure.  anyway, situation:  may pamangkin ako pinanganak dito.  proud of my pinoy-ness and want to share it, nung huli ko'n uwi sa pinas (2003) naghanap ako ng English version ng buhay ni Rizal.  ngek, punta ako ng National Bookstore at kung ano pa'ng bookstore sa Glorietta.  Lahat ng libro, puro tagalog.  Wala na raw Inglis no'n.  Pero, I said, "I remember growing up and attending elementary school sa pinas na Inglis ang bio ni Rizal.  What happened?"  Needless to say, di masagot nung sales clerk.
