Hi everyone. You've probably already expressed what you think about Joomla in posts in other areas but I'd like some feedback here.

Could you jump in here and post in as few words as possible, what you like about Joomla! (I'll kick it off). What I'm looking for is your top of mind thoughts ... or what pops into your head immediately.

1. Friendly
2. Easy to use
3. Saves me money

These are examples, you can agree with these if you like or you may have other ideas.

Please share them.

Thanks in advance,

Pete

Supported - as shown by this community
Extensible - as shown by some excellent 3PO stuff and the odd code tweak
Deployable - you can (just about) get it working out of the box, from which point the world is your lobster

1. The community, the best open-source support I've ever received!
2. Great add-on selection from an active development community!
3. Easy to use/costs nothing, what more can you say?

I guess number three counts as three and four, but I needed more items than just three! :)

2. Fast & Aesthetically designed
3. .... good community

I´m not gonna be original;

- Easy to use
- Great community support
- the fact that it would develop stronger as time passes by due to the second reason.

1. Active development of core and projects.
2. Easy adoption by clients.
3. I may be able to finally retire the CMS I wrote 5 years ago.

Hi, there. I am new to jloomla, actually I am on the second day into it. Before Joomla I used phpnuke and open source blog software such as b2, wordpress, etc. I would agree with you that joomla is a top CMS. But this is not because of what you guys have said. It is free of money. But there are so many out there which are also free. it is not because of easy. it is actually not easy. How many steps you need to go through to write your front page news? so many. so it won't be efficient. a good thing about CMS of this kind is the community. it works for community and builds community. but there are other CMS system there which work on the same manner. To me, the elegant design, the color, the icons, and the add-ons make joomla a bit of standing out among others. Other than that, there are somethings that do not make sense to me. For example, i installed jd-wordpress, but I still have not figured out how to make its sidebar work. without a menu, the wordpress is only a single webpage. so why bother? I can tell it is a lot more easier to configure, manage, and update (including adding in plugin, etc.) a weblog than CMS system like Joomla. unless you need so many potential functions it is inefficient to use Joomla vs. wordpress.
just want to share some different thoughts. I like Joomla though. thank you.
