Georgian Joomla

Post by Giasher » Fri May 11, 2007 11:29 pm

As representative of GIA community - http://www.gia.ge/portal/index.php?langid=english i would like to contribute Joomla Georgian (ka-GE) translation.
BTW, congrats - its [may be only] one of the best CMS in the world for nowadays
We already have Mambo translation - http://www.gia.ge/demo/mambo and translation for Joomla 1.0.12

So... here comes questions:
1. is it any special procedures for accredited translation?
2. any experience/tips for [possible] easy leverage from above mentioned translations?

Best,
g.\

Approved, started - http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/geojoomla/ :)
Frontend for 1.0.12 uploaded http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/geojoo ... ge_id=2360
any further tips? - it will be very helpful for newbie like me.

P.S. seems to me "Translations" board at http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/board,11.0.html is much better place for this topic.
would You (other moderator) be so kind to move this topic there?

Please read
http://dev.joomla.org/content/view/42/66/
http://dev.joomla.org/content/view/41/65/
http://dev.joomla.org/content/view/13/53/

If you are interested, you may apply to join our Accredited Translators.
That means Georgian 1.5 installation pack would be included in SVN and all your packs also made available here:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jtranslation/frs/

Means also you would be admitted in our Translation Working group and Private Translation Forum.

Great... sure, we're interesting to join - feeling so comfortable in this project

1.5 Frontend finished and will be submitted ASAP (proposing Beta at "Extensions").
Alpha is here:
http://www.gia.ge/filemanager/navega.ph ... ge%2Fka-GE

[in hurry] nightly build demo yet (eagerly waiting for 1.5 vs Joom!Fish "compatibility" - seems not working for now):
http://www.gia.ge/joomla/

May be bother You (i hope for first time only), but some clues to figure out next steps appreciated.

Thanks again,
g.\

Thanks.
Please prepare the installation package.
The "locale" in the xml file should list all locale(s) available, the utf8 ones listed first.
Let me know when ready and we will proceed.
After 5 posts you can pm to me.

@koba

Not necessary to translate 1.0.12.
It is done. Just pick it here:

Regarding versions:
1. Georgian langpack for Joomla! version 1.0.12 http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... ontend.zip
You must extract it in /languages/ka-GE folder and set it from admin

2. Georgian langpack for Joomla! version 1.5 Beta2
http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... .Beta2.zip
You can install it from admin - Extensions=>Install/Uninstall

As for translations - great and thanks - i'll provide more "extended" instructions this evening
0. It will be great to get Your familiarization/feedback regarding existing ones :)
1. You can join and start translation of admin interface (alphabeticaly descending - "lower") files immediately with any UTF-8 supporting word processor
Source Admin files to translate placed here:
http://www.gia.ge/filemanager/navega.ph ... or%2Fen-GB
Please start with last ones

Yes, we do need a 1.5 Georgian up-to-date language pack (1.5.18) and welcome any volunteer.
If anyone is interested, please contact The Translation Team coordination.
Please read the Translation Policy:
http://community.joomla.org/translation ... olicy.html

(Last pack we have is VERY old and obsolete):
