I really need a Flickr gallery component badly.. as I've had numerous issues trying to deploy flickr4j.. I've also tried the flickrbadge module, but found that module can't be dumped into a static content page (I've tried to do the latter for a day or so with the mosmodule plugin).

Yes , you can. There is also another component named Flickr4j with two cute mambots which will do that job.

You just copy the ID of the picture on Flickr.com and paste them into the code syntax and they will show up.

Seehttp://www.joomlagate.com/content/view/82/29/ for a live demo, those screenshots in that article are all saved on flickr.com and I just insert them into my article by a simple syntax. If you click on one picture, it can pop-up with lightbox effects. Very good.

If someone are rich enough, I hope he can donate to the author of flickr4j since this is really a wonderful extension.  :D

Thanks

I have heard that a lot of people had problemd with the flickrfj, therefore I hesitate, although it seems great.

By the way, where have you hosted your joomla-site?

Maybe they encountered some problems but I haven't yet.

My website is hosted on a non-commercial server in China, sponsored by one of my friends. He is also a Joomla fan.

If you are looking for a hosting service for a small and testing website, try the free hosting from http://phpnet.us

As I am in china at the moment I have hosted a site at hosting.com.hk, which might have been a mistake, as there support is somewhat imcommunicable.

Very glad to hear that you are in China now. Welcome my friend.

To be frankly, Chinese market of website hosting is not good. Many unprofessional guys rush into this market and make good servers and bad servers intermixed. I also hate the mess in this market of China.

If you are fluent in oral and written Chinese, you can try some IDC hosting proverder in China. This will make your website fast to access in China.

But one thing to note, every website in China should be reported to http://www.miibeian.gov.cn when it is about to publish.
