ok, i know that Joomla creates many URL's for the same content due to itemID, etc and i know that Google hates duplicate URL's and could ban a site for this.

Is there a way around this problem? I am using JoomSEF and the problem is as bad

Oh. I thought that if two URL's pointed to the same content, Google banned the pages in question

ok, fair enough. So can i just ignore all the duplicate URL's then? Should i write meta info for all URL's or just the original, eg write meta for /red-neon-kit.html but not /red-neon-kit-2.html?

no, leave it as it is. you dont need to do anything extra. do same for both pages. but avode more pages then 2-3 coz google might consider it as spamming of contant and keywords.

brilliant, thanks for your help.

I should really write meta keywords and descriptions for one URL per page though to help with google listings, etc. Any advice on writing keywords and descriptions?

yeh sure. choose your keywords very carefully and description also. what i suggest is to use some keyword density analyzer for a content and check which keywords are more effective then others and use those keywords in your meta keywords, this is the best method to guide search engines about your strong keywords for a perticular content.

description can be used as few 2-3 lines or selected lines from content. not more then 250 words.

well i use this one generally. its SEO chat's tools, but there are many and everyone have some plus and minus. so it depends on you.

note: keep keyword densite maximum of 5-6% not more other it will be spam.

Joomsef creates lots of duplicate pages for me too. Still have no idea how to prevent it after reading the faq and searching on the Internet. Do we need to pay to get the duplicates out? I wonder.
