Newbie: difficulty installing JEvents in Joomla 1.5

Post by walterbyrd » Wed Apr 25, 2007 6:23 pm

The JEvents downoad was a zip file, that included six other zip files, each of the six zip files were folders that including at two files in each.

I decompressed everything, keeping the same stucture. I could no instructions, or any setup file.

I went to the extension manager, but that only allows me to upload one file at time. Since I have over one dozen files, each of which are in their special folders, which is - in turn - in a special folder; I did not think that would work.

I ftp'd everything to sitename.com/components/

I tried "Install from directory" and "Install from URL" but neither worked. I think it wants a file, not a directory, but which file?

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

should this topic be moved to the 1.5 third party testing board?

Newbies are newbies. Give some real direction or non at all. I'd loved to hear the questions you've asked in your past.
