"this town"? I wouldn't use that in these "neck-of-the-woods" because you'll be met with some pretty wide-eyed glares.

Usually towns with close to 10 million people in them are called cities. lol

Would of been nice if this was on a weekend - Thursday and Friday is a bit tough to get to - even more so since its 9-5.

Are there any joomla (after hours) get togethers lined-up?

And for those that are trying to find more information on the area (hotels etc)... you spell the area: Ladprao, and there are some nice hotels along Ratchadapisek rd. which is about 10mins from Central Ladprao.

Hopefully, I will be able to escape form work and get over there.

There is a hotel called Centara Hotel at the Central Ladprao itself. You can check in there and walk to the convention center.

Ill be attending this . Anyone else coming ?

Is it just my juvenile sense of humour, or does anyone else (probably from the UK) find this 'double entendre' logo really funny?

Hi,

The OS festival is a big congress with about 1.400 people participating. I don't that there are many places in Bangkok which can host that many people which is why they choosed the convention center and the week.

Anyhow there is the Joomla!Day on Saturday (see http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic ... #msg889672 or http://www.joomladay.in.th/index.php/ev ... sh-version) on which we can meet. Also there is a good chance that there will be some Joomla! people around on Friday. Meeting at 6PM in the lobby of the Sofitel hotel (http://www.centralhotelsresorts.com/scp/map.asp).

I've also only just realised that the convention is being held in 'Bangkok' which is even funnier - oh, the irony!

Not true. its a very small convention center, in effect - and you probably know by now - its about two hotel ballroom sized floors above the left wing of a popular, but oldish - shopping center. Its about 10km away from downtown. I guess its this location because low price?

Would I have known early we could have met and touch base!

First of all let me thank Krit and his whole team for the excellent organization. It was a real great trip and the event was really interesting for me. I will try to write a little report later on.

About the pictures. What about we upload them to flickr and tag them with Joomla! and ThaiOSFestival07. Then everybody could easily see them. I would suggest that you do this with your own photos. There is also a Joomla! group on in which they could be added.



Yea this little ballroom is honestly unusual. What makes him unusual too is that he is in the fifth floor of that building and the whole shopping center is about double the size of this convention part 8-). It was an interesting experience I can say.

I just spat coffee all over my PC when I saw that logo!  and the design element - it's too much to be accidental, surely?
