Hi Chasbeen

Thanks for taking the time to report this.

Unfortunately we have no control over the links for this document, and currently there is not a plan to update the document locally.

Regards

Andy

As I have said before:
  • When that guide was submitted, permission was given to revise it
  • Its under Creative Commons License, Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 so j.org can revise it anyway
  • My login was disabled/deleted, so I can't do it myself.
Someone with access can take the correct image:

and host it somewhere at j.org to avoid future broken link issues.

Actually, the limited resources available on the documentation team are directed towards encouraging and empowering a number of community members to help build template tutorials. I am so pleased to see contributors popping up. It is JUST what we need!  8)

I think one of the biggest challenges in helping people learn how to use Joomla! is that we each come from such different places, different learning styles, different understandings, different purposes for our sites. This new method of getting the community engaged in helping other community members will not only strengthen our learning material by infusing those diverse perspectives into the process but also strengthen the entire community by encouraging deeper involvement and commitment to the project.

It is a very cool initiative and exactly the right strategy for the handful of volunteers in the documentation team to take. Meanwhile, we need to be patient. There might be a missing link or image or whatnot, but, in the end, this shift will prove strategic.

Amy :)
