Have a short scan through this forum to find answers to your questions and also why you'll get a load of grief for asking!

Well, you can download the latest nightly off the site.  There is no date set for Beta 2 release, nor for RC release, nor for stable release.  It will be released when it is ready.

The problem with releasing 1.5 now, is that first of all it isn't in a stable state.  There are frequent changes being made.  Second of all, it hasn't been security tested, and we don't want to have people complaining about their sites being hacked.  Third, there have been a number of changes that have required database changes or updates, so straight copying of files will leave your system in a state in which it will not work.  I personally would rather developers spend their time working on making the system stable than writing update scripts to modify the database for every single update that requires it.

In the end, we can't stop people from using the beta (though there are lots of issues with it that have been fixed), or the latest nightlies (which come with their own set of problems).  But IMO you will be giving yourself a lot of grief and at this point you're better off using 1.0.  If you're doing development, I would consider using 1.5, but still be ready to make changes as the API shifts slightly (recently, JMenuBar class was renamed to JToolBarHelper, which broke a component I was working on).
