I realize there is a number of topics relating to this, but I can't get it to work properly and I've been reading topic after topic for the last two weeks to no avail. I had two warnings initially, the one in the title, and one about rg emulation. rg emulation has been fixed by changing 1 to 0 in globals.php, but I still have 1 warning remaining. I need to turn this off in order for Expose 4 Gallery to work.

Thanks.

Either ask your hosting firm to turn this OFF in the servers php.ini file, or if they are unable to assist you might be able to use a .htaccess file to achieve the same resolution by adding the following line.

    php_flag register_globals = 0

If you cannot use .htaccess files try php.ini files in the " / " and "administrator/" directories

    register_globals 0

If that works, copy them to ALL directories that can run .php files...

You will find additional information regarding the security risks associated with register_globals being ON in the security forums.

Thanks for your help. After talking to my host, turns out I have to create a php.ini file containing the following "register_globals=off" and upload it to every single folder that has a .php file. Rather tedious but it worked.

Now that one website is fixed, I am curious as to whether there is any software that can upload 1 file to all subdirectories within a directory? To fix 5 more websites manually uploading 1 file to every folder takes a heck of a long time... :-D

Glad you got it resolved.....

If you are happy that the post is now resolved, could I ask if you could now go back to your FIRST post and modify to SOLVED in the drop down box to allow other users to quickly find resolved issues. Thank you.
