OK...here's the deal (and this may have been reported):

I add a link to an article on my main menu, the Link field lists the URL as:  index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=70

I add a Menu Link (Alias) item to another menu and the Link Field lists the URL as: index.php?Itemid=131

Now, I have no problem with this except that the two urls show the article in two different formats - The first one picks up all the home-page/frontpage related styles - the other picks up the article related styles.

Mind you, I'm using FlexContent.  however, it seems that the router recognizes the two URLs as different pages....Is this intentional?

Hi,
this is because router.php everytime reads the properties of the default-menu-item, if you do not specify an itemid. I do not like it, but you cannot change it. See http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,175396.0.html or http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,174978.0.html
