many have a problem that common login dont works

1. Reason
you have added wrong license, the license is NOT the vbulletin.com memberid(customer number)
you can find your license numer in every vbulletin file or

2. joomla and vbulletin are not on same domain

for security reason it is only posible to set cookies, ony if joomla and vbulltin are on same domain

example:

http://www.joomla.com
http://www.vbulletin.com

this will dont work, but

http://www.vbulletin.joomla.com
http://www.joomla.vbulletin.com

or
http://www.joomla.com/vbulletin
http://www.vbulletin.com/joomla

it will work

3. reason is, that you have added wrong cookie path in your vbulletin settings
the vbridge sets the cookie path to /

so if you have added other cookie path in your vbulletin settings, common login will dont works

Yep, need to watch out for this one.  I was thrown off.  I kept entering the customer number.  :-[

Customer Number: not this one
Customer Password: not this one
Leased License: this is the one you enter!  it's made up of letters and numbers usually about 8 characters long i.e. #A9999a99.  No not include the # symbol.

if you don't know your leased license number, then log into members.vbulletin.com -- you will be prompt for your customer number and password.  Once you enter you member area, look for "License Details and Options" box; you will see a column for "License # / URL."  That's where you wlll find your license # (right above your website name).

Anyway, the only problem I have is just logging in through vbulletin where in doesn't loggin to joomla.  Everything else seems fine.

i will make this module ( connector like com_connector for vbulletin ) next week

I was talking about vbridge, but com_connector has the same issue.

As far as I am concerned Vbridge doesn't work even on the same domain, even with the right cookie settings in Vb.....just Does Not work - I tried on 3 different servers, never got a chance to have it working without cookie problems -
I am giving it a shot until the end of the week waiting for predator to release his new version or leonsio to come up with a php4 compatible, otherwise I will just have to forget it and use SMF...eventually use vbportal instead of joomla if it makes sense overall :( it sucks but I can't wait any longer.
Altough I am pretty sure predator will release a great fix and we will al be happy :)

I think I installed vbulletin_sql mod and joomla_sql.
they both seem to be normal except they dont do what they should do.
Meaning users are not logged in or synchronized from joomla to forum.
currently I'm testing this feature, so the directory structure is /joomla_test and forum is /forums.
cookie path is /.
and i have entered right license number.
any idea why it isn woring?
