Hi,
I've just released a bridge for  Coppermine & Joomla 1.5 rc4 .
Almost same logic as before. (User integration & Visual Integration).

However since I distribute the bridge also for Joomla 1.0x in the same zip file,
now there's two subfolder "joomla 1.x only" & "Joomla 1.5 rc4 only"

What else ?
* no more "gzip hack" is required to take advantage of gzip compression in joomla while using the bridge .
* I didn't updated instructions for Community Builder users, however it shouldn't be that hard to
adapt for Joomla 1.5 ( a story of links, just find the right ones)
* yep, it can work native (no need to enable legacy plugin)

Download & details here:
http://www.mehdiplugins.com/misc/index.htm

Any  comment ?

Hi Medhi,

First thanks a lot for this wunderfull bridge. It works great.
Just one question. Is there a way to assign a module only to show up on the Copperminepages? For now you must assign a module for all pages otherwise it doesn't appear with the copperminebridge!

You don't have to wrap it! Bridge CPG trough the CPG bridgemanager with Joomla. Then add a link of your CPG in your Joomla mainmenu, full url => http://www.yourdomain.com/CPG

Did you setup the bridge from Medhi trough the bridgemanager in CPG. It doesn't look like you've done that! If you apply that you gallery will show inside your joomlatemplate!

Hi Mehdi,

thanks for the coding!

Everything seems to work fine. The one exception is the old Itemid problem:

Changing the query string through $joomQS= does not work on my installation, with the first two joomla-integrated SEO-options enabled. The menus just dont get how they should be selected...

I'm running J!1.5.1 with coppermine 1.4.16

Any idea how to solve this? Switching off SEO is not an option, I would loose all my known URLs.

Im running Joomla 1.0.15 and Coppermine 1.4.16.

I am getting a blank page when I run through your instructions. It thinks for a second and leaves me with a blank page. I did not create a component link, just a link to the location of my gallery. I have search engine friendly on and I am not using Gzip.

Thanks for any help. It used to work for me until I moved my hosting to Siteground.

(sorry Just realized I put this in the wrong place)

After going through the install, when I click on the link to Coppermine, I get a blank page. No error, no partial template, just a white page. Has anyone gotten this working on Joomla 1.5 stable? The component says for 1.5RC4, but also states it should work with any minor updates.
I am running Joomla 1.5.1, Coppermine 1.4.16, with no additional components or modules installed. This was a 1.5 beta, that was upgraded to one of the release candidates, then to 1.5 stable. I tried this on the 1.5, then just upgraded to 1.5.1 tonight to see if that was the problem. Still nothing.

My install was as follows:
1. Upload joomcpg-bridge.zip to server and unzip in a temporary directory.
2. Unzip com_coppermine.zip to directory to install component "From Directory". At present, "Upload and Install" doesn't work, and it seems like it is common with 1.5. Need to look at bug tracker.
3. I created a menu link to the External link /cpg/
4. Copy joomla15.inc.php and joomla15.integ.php to /cpg/bridge folder.
5. I modified the existing bridgemgr.php and functions.inc.php instead of copying the hacked files incase something changed from 1.4.14 to 1.4.16
6. Run the brigemgr.php, setup the bridge
7. login to Joomla
8. Click on link and get blank white page.

If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it.

Mike

Where do you mean "Do you use GZip?" Gzip is installed on the Linux server, and I can uncompress files through a shell, but I don't upload Gzip'd files. I saw that this version of the bridge doesn't need the gzip hack. I understand that was with an earlier version of the bridge, but I'm not aware what that took care of.

The problem exists even before I can upload or view images. I did test out Coppermine before, and was able to upload images, but now with the bridge enabled, I can't even view the coppermine page. I've even taken out the integration file to try to use the standard template and nothing seems to work.

Thinking it might be something from the upgrade from beta to 1.5 to 1.51, I wiped out the site directory, uncompressed the full 1.5.1 Joomla file, and copied over the configuration.php file and the cpg directory. That didn't work.

I've looked through the access logs and error logs and nothing shows up. When I click on the link to the gallery, according to the access log, it doesn't even record a hit. When I disable the bridge in Coppermine, and click on the gallery link, it brings up the Coppermine login page. I just thought about the "Remember Me" check box when logging in, thinking it needed to be checked, but that still didn't work.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks.

GZIP compression in Joomla is set to No.
I'm sorry, I didn't read the description close enough. As soon as I clicked Submit on my last post, I noticed the GZIP hack was with using Gzip page compression. For my configuration it is set to No.

@marvay,
I just made a test between Joomla 1.5.1 and Coppermine 1.4.16 ,
and this seems to work fine.
I advise you use the new available pre-hacked files of Coppermine 1.4.16,
instead of hacking them by yourself.
This might help you to solve the problem.

Little update, warning :
I realized a bit late that there's an issue with caching. Don't activate caching for Joomla 1.5, until I provide a fix (unless you are not interested by visual integration).

I'm trying to install the com_coppermine15 file and it's telling me that ERROR: Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.

Can someone please help?

I'm running J1.5 and the latest Coppermine.

Thanks

J1.5.3 and cpg1.4.18 here

I have the following problem: the bridged cpg seems to work, but somehow my "session" is all messed up. When I log in to Joomla frontend, everything is fine. When I click the cpg url I made in the menu, cpg displays all right, it even welcomes me by the Joomla username at the very first click. Now, the next click I make anywhere (cpg or joomla, doesn't matter) shows me as an unregistered user.

Basically, activating cpg somehow logs me out. Any pointers as to where to look and what to look for? I disabled all caching in Joomla. Is this some kind of cookie problem? Any pointers? :(

I followed the install instructions very closely, plus I doublechecked the steps, just to make sure. I used the prehacked files. But I reserve the right to be stupid :)

Got it working. For future reference, here is the solution to my problem. Although Joomla is quite happy with usernames containing weird characters like 'óűő' (Hungarian accents) Coppermine is not so happy. Stick to 'normal' chars in usernames and everything will be fine ;)

Would like to say thanks to mehdi for the awesome bridge, but I'm having one slight problem....

If I try to login to Joomla using Community Builder login module, while coppermine is showing I get a blank page showing only {COPPERMINE_TEMPLATE_HTML} .

I have joomla 1.5.6 and coppermine 1.4.19 and Community Builder 1.2.0 RC2.

This is because the community builder is reloading /index.php?option=com_coppermine&Itemid=57 which is set in the bridge config as:

$joomQS="option=com_coppermine&Itemid=57";

My only fix so far has been to disable the login module showing up on coppermine pages, but that also means it doesn't show up on other pages (not setup in menu's).

Any help would be appreciate?

I realise I could redirect the CB login module to a different page but that would be annoying for the rest of the site having to browse back to where the user was.

Hello,
I have the same problem :( I'm running: Joomla! International Edition 1.0.15 stable [ Daytime ] 22 February 2008 23:00 UTC

However when I point to component for version 1.0 it is installing it, but bridge returns an error (that other version was expected). Any suggestions/solutions??

Thanks in advance.
