i have more multilanguage sites, running joomla 1.0.7, i tried to update one of them today to joomla1.0.8 and then the mambelfish (v1.5) stoped working :'(

- address is changing ok
- language files are changing ok

- translated content is not (DB looks ok, translations in admin are still published, language config looks fine)  ???

Hi folks,

just working on the first Joom!Fish version for Joomla!. It's dedicated for 1.0.8 and will be released as a beta within the next two weeks.

Ahh I think I know what might be the issue.

Is the new index.php file modified again in order to replace the $database?

Sounds like this is the only thing you are missing

Alex

we have it working fine with 1.08 in French and English, not sure why so many people are having issues.

We did a clean install with 1.07, did the upgrade and all is fine at the moment :P

well, in my case, all I did was upgrade as indicated, in fact I even did a nono, I did it without doing a backup at all, guess what,,worked like a dream, I am not using any sef addon at all, just the normal sef within Joomla,,,no issues.

As for joomfish, no idea yet, but I hope it runs smooth.

Now I've read man posts, take in mind I started with a clean install(1.07), added mfish with no issues and began port data over from our downed site where possible and translated(french and english)

I was about 100 articles in when I did the upgrade, I ftp'd over top blindfolded so to speak and crossed my fingers, no problems at all so far...I do not suggest doing this if your a newbie to Joomla or Mambo for that fact, I have a great deal of experience with Mambo which has allowed me to know what to fix where possible when it breaks. So, before doing an upgrade BACKUP just in case, don't do the rambo install that I did. I was even surprized to see it all came through without a glitch, but relieved as well.

Hope this helps

... I think there is just a little confusion, so I decided to wait few days for Jomfish before to upgrade to Joomla 1.0.8 ...  :D

I thought about doing the same, but I wanted to have the performance increases of J1.08... I feel like a kid I want it all  :-[
and I also guessed that I would have to upgrade to J1.08 prior to upgrading to joomfish. I am hoping that the process will be relatively painless.. but maybe that's more of the eternal child's wishful thinking  ;D

well, is it possible to get mambel/joomfish to run with joomla 1.0.8 or do i have to
wait unti the "real" joomish is out ?

it s a pitty, everything went fine befor the 1.0.8 patch, but i dont want to downgrade because of the security bugs.

so every hint will be much appreciated :)

I had mamblefish running on 1.07 and went up to 1.08. I followed the update docs and I had no problems (except for some rss newsfeeds but I doubt it has anything to do with mamblefish).

I can't wait for Joomfish to come out, but mamblefish seems to work just fine for me in J1.08

Anyone had any experience 1.08 and mambel with more than two languages?  Every time I change to translate a language, I lose the previous translation for the new?

Looking forward to joomfish very much indeed

Jeremy

Hi,
the joomla 1.5 version is announced for this month, sooo what do you think is the joomfish 1.7RC compatible?
Is it even compatible to the current accessable 1.1alpha2? (Well i will test tho).

Btw i wonder where i find the register link for the forge...the help popup just genearates a blank page (opera).

Cheers
