I want to create a contact page that contains a form that can be filled in and automatically emailed to a particular email address. The user would fill in a message and their email address, click send and it gets sent. Is there a component that does this?

Have you tried the build in com_contact component in Joomla? Itss readdy for use ;)

Sorry if I sound a bit stupid but how do I use this component? I want to call it from a menu item, clicking the menu item will bring up the contact form.

From backend, Components => Contacts=>Categories/Contacts
Create your categories and contacts. After that, create a new "Contact" menu item, and choose witch contact the form should send mail to ;)

Thanks for that, I've now got that on my site. Can the latouy of this be modified. Can I change the order that various fields appear on the page and can I add some introduction text at the top, before the actual email form?
