Hey, first of all I want to say I love joomla. Great software. Now for my question. I am working on a website using joomla, and I installed it to a directory entitled joomla. I wanted to move the installation to the root directory of my site but I dont want to reinstall it. With other php and mysql software such as wordpress, I could do this from the admin panel, or if that was not accesible, change a mysql table. I am sure there is a way to do this with joomla too, but I can't find it. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem having used the auto install feature from my hosting company after searching the net i pieced together so things.  i just moved the files (FTP) from the joomla directory to the root directory, then adjusted the string $mosConfig_absolute_path  in the configuration.php file to have it point to the correct location (getting rid of the /joomla dir in that string and just replacing it with /') Do not know if it's the correct way of doing things but it seems to have worked. kind of. have not tested all the things some of icons in the admin panel seem to be screwed up but everything else seems to work. up could be me or the wine  :D
