I have been away so sorry if i have missed something somewhere about this.

Before i went away i was receiving my Joomla RSS updates from http://www.joomla.org no problems (As always), now i do not get anything from 1st June, but i look manually and they are there.

Was just wondering when you changed your own Joomla sites to 1.0.9 and if anyone else has seen this problem, or if my computer went mad while i was away

Thanks

Dan

Do you mean that your Joomla! powered site is unable to access feeds from http://www.joomla.org?

Rey,

on my site as well, the http://www.joomla.org newsfeed has vanished about 24 hours ago. The extensions and dev sites still seem to have an active feed, but not the main Joomla site.

Kind regards,
Zorro

The feed syndication for Joomla.org is created by a custom component - based on the core com_rss

I had to make a modification in it yesterday as it had a slight bug - showing registered items.

Will examine to see if any issue exists

Anyway as this issue is not related to 1.0.x and is regards the offical site it is being moved to the correct forum.

Thanks for looking into it, Rey. You're right it's not a bug with 1.0.9 else it would have happened with the other Joomla sites as well.

Kind regards,
Zorro

Rey,

Yes that is what i mean (But using an RSS reader not Joomla), sorry i only have the news feed from the main site at the moment so thought it may be 1.0.9 related, i am just going to dev to add that one aswell.

Thanks for the info, and hope you find the problem

Good work

Thanks

Dan

If you go to the "News" page on joomla.org (link) and click on one of the feed icons in the lower left module (e.g., RSS 2.0 - link), you get a page that says "You are not authorized to view this resource. You need to login."

No wonder I haven't been getting this feed in my feed reader the last couple of days.

This issue should hopefully now be resolved and the feeds working correctly again.

Please note the problem was not in the Joomla! 1.0.9 Core, but with an addon created specifically for http://www.joomla.org to extend the syndication functionality

I can confirm that the newsfeed from joomla.org is up and running again. Thanks very much!

Kind regards,
Zorro

Sounds like a great candidate for incorporation into the Joomla core!
