Looks like there have been some errors with inserting data into your database!

Postby zumbachkat » Wed Oct 11, 2006 10:31 pm

I am getting the following error when I try to launch the web installation file.
Warning: require_once(/path/to/joomla/install/includes/version.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\Joomla\includes\joomla.php on line 71

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/path/to/joomla/install/includes/version.php' (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\Joomla\includes\joomla.php on line 71

I have apache 2.2 installed, php5.2 aand joomla 1.011.
Can anyone help me with this error?

Thanks

How did you get a filled configuration.php (not the -dist) before installing? This file needs to be created/filled later on in the installation.

I guess I had jumped ahead abit.  that fixed the error.  Now I show this:
PHP version >= 4.1.0  Yes
  - zlib compression support  Available
  - XML support  Available
  - MySQL support  Unavailable
configuration.php  Writeable
Session save path  Unwriteable

I am new to php so I really appreciate the help in fixing these errors.

thanks.

PHP Doesn't automatically enable support for Mysql any more. Check php.ini, the mysql lib needs to be unmarked.

You can also use WAMP for a complete install of Apache, Mysql and PHP

Postby zumbachkat » Thu Oct 12, 2006 9:42 pm

Ok.  thanks for your help.  I am now at the My Sql database configuration and I am receiving a ton of errors and do not know where to begin.
Do I make up a database name or do I use the default mysql that was installed when I install mysql.  I haven't done anything to mysql other that install it and give it a password. --thanks

Here they are.

You wil need to create a database giving it a name and also create a user giving that user permissions, these will be given to joomla during the install.

I have a very similar problem.

I have attempted to run the browser based installation with both the database pre-created, and with the database dropped.  Either way, I end up with errors, usually referring to problems building the poll data table.

Pre-Installation Check - has all green, everything is either as recommended or required.

On step 1, I provide the database information:

Host Name: localhost
MySQL User Name: jos_usr  (a user I have defined through phpMyAdmin)
MySQL Password: password
MySQL Database Name: cms_test_db
MySQL Table Prefix: jos_

No matter what other options I select, I get a MySQL error on the next page...  But the script does create the database and the majority of the tables before crashing...

This is Apache/2.0.59 (Win32) DAV/2 PHP/5.1.6 and MySQL 5.0.26 win32

Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.

I was able to solve this situation, but I am not sure of the implications due to the change that I included.

Another post http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic ... #msg516242 pointed me in this direction...

In the file /installation/sql/joomla.sql I changed the original code from:

Code: Select all

#
# Table structure for table `#__poll_data`
#

CREATE TABLE `#__poll_data` (
  `id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,
  `pollid` int(4) NOT NULL default '0',
`text` text NOT NULL default '',
  `hits` int(11) NOT NULL default '0',
  PRIMARY KEY  (`id`),
  KEY `pollid` (`pollid`,`text`(1))
) TYPE=MyISAM;

to this slightly modified code

Code: Select all

#
# Table structure for table `#__poll_data`
#

CREATE TABLE `#__poll_data` (
  `id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,
  `pollid` int(4) NOT NULL default '0',
  `text` text NOT NULL,
  `hits` int(11) NOT NULL default '0',
  PRIMARY KEY  (`id`),
  KEY `pollid` (`pollid`,`text`(1))
) TYPE=MyISAM;

It seems that the assignment of a default value was causing the script to choke.

Hope this helps

One of the changes in Mysql version. These error message will come forward when running Mysql 5 in strict mode.

Hi i have followed the above solution to attempt to solve the same install2 problem.... but now I am stuck with another

Code: Select all

SQL=You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near \'# $Id: joomla.sql 677 2005-10-27 02:13:29Z spacemonkey $
\n
\n# Table structure\' at line 1 SQL=# $Id: joomla.sql 677 2005-10-27 02:13:29Z spacemonkey $
\n
\n# Table structure for table `jos_banner`

The lines are more than what u have seen... but due to word limit... that's all u can see here....

previously i was having this BLOB TEXT problem, but i follow the solution and got rid of the "default ' ' " and now I am once again stuck with another problem.

What happens if you disable Mysql strict mode? Is your database using UTF-8 for character set? Look in the Mysql.ini for:
sql-mode=........

If this is set, place a # before it and restart Mysql. What happens now?

Hi

I have take a look at my.ini... and ya. My setting is in STRICT mode.. I followed what tonie has suggested by adding a # in the front, and restarted MySQL service.

But I am still getting the same problem

\n) TYPE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=1:
- - - - - - - - - -
# $Id: joomla.sql 677 2005-10-27 02:13:29Z spacemonkey $

I am not getting it right.. please assist. thanks.

Hi... the # us not part of the .sql content.

The quotes are all copied from joomla install2.

What bugs me is the "TYPE=MySIAM;" but my engine is InnoDB, is it the affecting factor?

Or can anyone send me a copy of your mysql's my.ini?

You engine might well be the problem, but not sure about that. What happens if you remove the type=myisam and try to run it again?

Hi

Glad to hear that it's a general bug. I mean it's good to expose unrevealed bugs. So from the bug tracking link, it is identified for correction in next release. So can i say that my problem will currently be 'frozen' until further release?

As a non-technical installer, I am not able to understand how the error is causing my installation. Is there any backup plan for me? Thanks

@ ionix,

The bug which will be resolved is related to the poll script, you seem to have a different problem.

Hello,

I've obtained a working joomla.sql file. I don't know why, but it works. Try the attachment.

Kind regards, Jörgen

Hi

Sorry for the late reply, the attach sql file did not work either. It gives a different error log.

My stats are

PHP is ver 5.1.6
Apache is ver 2.2.3
MySQL is 5.0.26
Joomla is 1.0.11

The problem seems to persist... it's always prompt a syntax error. But I cannot locate where is the error.

Hi,

Someone else from Q&T had a look and he told me the sql file was corrupt. See if you can re-download a 1.0.11 package, unzip it, and use the joomla.sql from that.

Great.. I reload the joomla.sql and replace with my current copy. Now I have completed my install2 phrase. Thanks.

I'll like to feedback the possible problems for this case.

- the .sql maybe corrupted
- mysql is on strict-mode
- the database that you are installing to is already populated.

Thanks again Tonie and RobInk

SUCCESS!      :D

The problem seems to be an incompatibility with the latest build of MYSQL which is 5.0.27.  I downloaded a previous version of MYSQL 5.0.15 and I was successful at completing the installation.
