7392: Menu type?
Just looking at the Menu Manager screen, I was wondering what exactly a "menu type" is supposed to be? Main Menu => mainmenu? There's only one type of menu, and this suggests there's different types.. I couldn't come up with a better word for this as I don't really know what it is.. does it have to be shown there anyway?!

Hi Joe,
Since this is more of a question than a bug, I'll move it to the Beta2 Feedback forum.

Here is certainly a consistency bug.
On the Menu details page mainmenu is called "Module Name", while the same thing is called Type on the Menu Manager page. Look at the screenshots.

The "Module name" label at "Menu Details" is a issue already fixed in SVN.

Re: 7392: Menu type?
leadict, the issue is not what you link to, it is that "the identification name used by Joomla! to identify this menu within the code.." (sidenote: identification to identify..? sounds redundant..) aka Menu Details => Menu Type is not very clear in it's use (and to me never was since I have used Mambo / Joomla).. What is this "type" used for (in the code) that it needs to be unique, why can there be two modules with the same type (see "othermenu " in SVN), it's all a bit confusing imho..
Maybe renaming this to "unique identifier" would make it a bit clearer..? In my understanding, a "type" of something is not what this is used for.

Re: 7392: Menu type?
I mainly refer my previous post to the "consistency bug" mentioned by habam .
I understand what you want to mean with the problem of using "Type" as the label to this parameter. Perhaps another term would be more proper to identify that parameter with its related function (Note: The "Type" identifies the menu (an unique menu name), it doesn't involve that you can't create two modules to the same menu -but yep this can be confused-).
Moreover, there is an inconsistency with the fact that this parameter is named as "Menu name" in the "mod_mainmenu" modules (see image attached) while the drop down box shows the "Menu type".
