Tango is very much alive. I used it before Pervasive bought Tango from the company founders up in Canada. Another company bought Tango from Pervasive a couple of years ago.

I really miss using Tango. My team and I did alot of rapid prototyping using it. Now, if I could use Tango to create components, that would be fun. :-)

so I thought, someone else is using Pervasive around here and so must have known Tango.

The community probably wouldn't have any trademark problems with the bucking-bronco sex toy maker (the products are different enough), but your suggested name would probably get a reaction from Symbian, the phone OS company.

cOSMos is good. I also like MelodyCMS, OSM-CMS (or just OSM). Keep'em coming!

This is one of those times where I wish I took Latin in high school so I could come up with interesting new words to use for projects like this. lol

True... but I don't think that matters so much unless it's a tradmarked name of another software product. Mambo.com was certaintly taken long beore the Mambo CMS was invented, so MamboServer.com was used. No reason we can't do the same here

That's certainly catchy for bloggers and hobbyists but it's also precisely the sort of amateurishness that makes companies cringe when considering an investment in open source software. Btw, if the naming and organization used appears to be professional, larger websites (which attract the most attention) will be less likely to hide the fact they are using Mambo.

I think the new name should be international, should be related to the common terms. What I like most of the suggestions made above is "cOSMos". It´s short and has "osm", "mos" and "os" in it. Also a lot of associativitys are possible:

-free
-unlimited
-everyone lives in it, everyone can use it
...
