Who's Left?

With all the core devs, documentators etc leaving, who is left over at mamboserver?
Is it just miro staff or are there other people over there still involved? If its miro staff, how will they find time to update their commercial software and mambo?  That project could well slow up dramatically.

I notice on their new website, they claim that new developers will replace any old developers that leave, but with most developers following this, will anyone be interested in joining that team?

Also how many people are going to join up to the Foundation? most who are interested or find out about it may well have found out through all the controversy and so not join up.

Could this lead to the end of 'mambo' as we know it. Do you think that project will die, what about all the awards, its a shame they cant come across.

Just some of my thoughts I thought i would share with you.

One last one the foundation accronym is MFI - now in the UK that means cheap flat pack kitchens :D

I noticed R Castley was posting over on that there other forum thread when this all kicked off, but has gone very very quiet.
Im wondering which side of the fence he now sits on after all he was the start of the modern mambo movement, I would like to know his thoughts on this now.

Agreed. I noticed that people were pointing fingers and he was somehow on the other side of the finger. This is hard to believe from our old fearless leader...

I will post the same question over at mamboserver see if I get any response.

He was at least trying to calm everybody and give some anwers. It must hurt him as well that this is happening at the moment, I think not a lot of people foresaw all of this. Hopefully he will come with some sort of statement later.

Maybe if a few people back up my request over at the other place (those of you who are not banned) then maybe he will see our question instead of it just getting buried?

I guess you and everyone of us has to act carefully. Before inventing conspiracies, please read this from Robert Castley: http://forum.mamboserver.com/showpost.p ... tcount=349

Running the Mambo project costs around $200,000.00 each year. What happens with the money left over I don't know but this can be another item I can put on the agenda for next week and come back to you with an answer.

And all of this is on bandwidth/network and/or advertising? I find this curious.

I'm not sure that even Robert Castley is left over there.  He made some very interesting posts and then suddenly, he is showing up as "Guest".  Before he disappeared off that forum, he did say he had not signed any non-disclosure agreement.  I wonder if he said more than he should have?

The awards were won by the dev team. Opensourcematters.org is the home of the award winning product. I think the old Mambo has died, allthough Miro still finds it hard to admit. It is very sad, also for open source in general: Mambo was getting very well known and than it suddenly ends. The good thing is: the new CMS will be really open source, without the copyright notice of a commercial company.

This $200,000.00 includes the salaries of Miro people involved, including the hours Mr. Lamont himself spends on the project.

The About us on mamboserver has a subdocument called Honour Roll.
Here: http://www.mamboserver.com/index.php?op ... &Itemid=97

Theres a lot of questionmarks on that list, but also alot without. Do they actually know that they´re quite alone overthere ? The echo in the empty forum must give them a thunder headache.....Miro...iro...ro...O..O...OOO OH  ;D

Update. I just took a look at *osforge. Take a look at the *ambo Developer list. Zero developers. So I guess it's official. *ambo has NO development team. With 269 open issues on the tracker and no developers it looks like *ambo is officially stalled.

Edit: Fortunately, the REAL CMS is still alive and well right here at OSM. Thanks guys. We appreciate your work.

from *amboserver

The Board received Robert Castley's resignation yesterday. This sudden decision is a result of the hateful and childish bullying in the forums and by email, and is the same reason Robert left the Mambo community last year.

We are disappointed by Robert's departure but will now act to fill the vacancy left on the Board.

hmm childish

Now isn't it an undue conflict of interest to have now 66% Miro employees on the board ?

And the only 'independent' person is someone who deals in mergers and acquisitions..
