I have a few suggestions to rename / rebrand the Mambo content management system software.

5: Chimera CMS
4: Red Dog CMS
3: Sway CMS
2: Reverie CMS

1: CorePHP CMS

just giving a suggestion of a name when i first started out with PHP i was going to create my own CMS...then found Mambo and have been on the bandwagon ever since.

I will be keeping the http://www.corephp.com domain and but if there is a name change and is decided to utilize that a new name then i would be more then willing to give it up.

Having a name similar to Mambo is actually the opposite of what the developers want.  If you look at the summarized thread, suggestions from both of the major threads have been combined along with guidelines the developers gave.

OS as in Open Source.

Profundo. In Italian, 'basso profundo' mean deep bass. In musical terms, 'bosso profundo' would apply to a deep, heavy bass voice with an exceptional range.

In this case, 'profundo' would describe the open source CMS.

i don't no though why people like offering translations of other langauges other than english and using that, the majority of users are using the english language, personally i don't have a clue what mambo stands for, it sounds like spanish dance, but that is it. It should be made easier for people to unserstand the basic meaning in nearly all languages. Compatibility

I once heard that the only words that are undestood in all languages are hallelujah, Coca Cola and McDonalds.

The benefit of OSM's worldwide community is that we can find a clever brand name, like Mambo, that is easily pronounced and spelt correctly by as wide an audience as possible.
