Can't.. There is prior commercial naming rights for Salsa and Chilli in Australia, if I remember correctly. Some web company out there in my travels has released packages and naming rights over products inside the web sphere.

This could be confused with http://www.osm.net/ or with OSM http://www.osmcorp.com/.

OSM is the name of this site and I think the product needs a different name to stop confusion with these two I mentioned.

To considerations from my side:

1. Wouldn't it be a great statement towards Miro from our side to completely break with the Mambo-name, just to show that we don't need it to survive, that even without any reference at all to former-Mambo, we will win the battle of the best ever CMS ? I stopped looking for a ne name sounding like Mambo anyway

2. Isn't it dangerous to suggest new names here on this public forum? What if Miro- or Foundation-spies come read all this and start registering the most popular names? Just to sabotage us?

And now, my own personal suggestion:

WHOOPY

No special reason, just sounds funny and reflects the fun we're all having using M ... oeps, our own temporarily nameless CMS

And we could call ourselves WHOOPEOPLE than

Regenerate CMS

I used that name for my small, one-person company because it stands for rebuilding old (company) websites to something new and better: a Mambo CMS driven website!

It could be used in a simular manner to reflect the new Mambo CMS: a new refreshed CMS.

Might sound stupid because it's my nickname but I just thought it might be nice to add to the discussion...

May I offer up a suggestion?

How about....

Swing

Swing conjures visions of carefree summer days. Its also a dance style that broke away from conventional norms of 'closed' partner to partner dancing, opening up to a more individualistic means of expression through movement. (sound familiar?)

If folks could get over the idea of being 'Swingers'....we'd have it made.
