You will also need to edit the mySQL database if you want to add some fields there OR you can download some components and use it as a substitute.

Hi there

I agree you will need to create new fields in you Database to hold that info, however if you are only after editing the layout or the design of the template then this is what you have to do:

1. open your file manager in either plesk, cpanel or what ever your sever is using.....

2. once you have your joomla directory opened the files that output the contact info is located at: components/com_contact/views/contact/tmpl

3. and this is were u can edid the exiting field or created new one (keep in mind if you create new ones then you need to update your database to store those fields......) :D

have fun....

The instructions you gave are for what version of Joomla?

The reason for this is that the path: components/com_contact/views/contact/tmpl

is not valid in my installation.

I'm currently running Joomla! 1.0.12 Stable

Do you know where I may find the file to edit the contact information.

Thanks... Willie

there is one very easy way to do it without digging codes but in return you will be having extra bandwidth ^^

use the CSS to hide the text by indenting it -999
then add a text image background. to replace the text.

to change where the form gets sent to, log onto your backoffice, open, components/contact and edit the form. Edit the actual email here.
