dashed line divider in template

Post by gg-designer » Tue Aug 10, 2010 12:23 pm

Hi again
Thanks in anticipation someone can help. Still loving Joomla - all well, just little things now and then. New website, very simple but difficult to format this way with the dotted line as a divider. I would expect I can set a border around the article and then change in css to dotted line on one side and this would solve it all. As it is I had to make this look as you see so I ended up putting a narrow table with the graphic dotted line as a background which repeats beside the copy down the page. This works perfectly (for me) but handing over to the person who will be using the site is too messy for me.
I am using Artisteer to produce the template and then playing with the css. Does anyone know quite where to change the border (eg border-bottom: none; border-left: dashed, 1 px etc etc) not sure where to find this in the css - is it a border or is it a graphic that produces the border. I see a line called clip: rect (auto 1px.... blah blah) ???
the website so you know what I mean - http://www.coverist.com.au

Thanks guys

If you get Firefox with the Firebug extension, it'll tell you the line number and filename(s) of the css file that is controlling those renderings so that you can easily fix it. See:
http://docs.joomla.org/Tutorial:Using_F ... la_Website
Don't HACK the Joomla! core, Instead "Extend" and/or "Override."
Stay ON the update path.
